Dead On Ice was the first book in the new Lovers In Crime series by Lauren Carr. It was exciting to grow with the author into a new mystery series and design the cover which turned out a bit deeper/darker than previous works. Manipulating a series of images along with adding accents to emphasize a dramatic feel, this cover seemed to hit the mark well at the time to bring in a new audience to an exciting new series. Shades Of Murder (May 7, 2012)
Shades Of Murder seemed to flowed out pretty quick as the different concepts were put together and analyzed by the author for approval. A few minor changes here and there completed the concept nicely. At that time, I started to hear from the author more about the compliments on the covers she had now available in her new series of books. Facebook postings, direct compliments from strangers and new interests in my work seemed to be at its infancy. It was nice to have a little buzz going with such a successful series of mystery books. Old Loves Die Hard (April 26, 2011)
Old Loves Die Hard was my first adventure into some true freelance work using my design talents to a much more noble level of creativity. To be able to design an entire book cover was a great experience. This book cover was the first with my new relationship with Acorn Book Services. To see the entire cover, click the image.
It’s Murder, My Son (August 24, 2010)
This was the beginning of an unknown future at that time on my working relationship with author Lauren Carr. This cover was designed for the audiobook format I created at work. Mrs. Carr was so kind with her words on how the cover for “It’s Murder, My Son” turned out that it sparked many wonderful projects that she has given me over the years and I am eternally grateful for the opportunities given working with Acorn Books Services. I did not design a full cover for this book besides the audiobook version at Books In Motion. For a larger view, click the image.
